Mike Troy reads his poem "I Wish" on Saturday at the Burwell School, after being named Hillsborough's Poet Laureate. Troy was happy to recieve the honor especially in an area he considers to be full of creative people.
Lois Blackburn talks about the Easter Bunny to her friend Esther Henderson, she said "he has a ratty tail." Overall the two were happy to hunt for easter eggs, and being given a reminder of when the were young.
This was an assignment for the DTH, a preview of Sweater Weather who will be performing in next thursday's Battle of the Bands. The first is the photo that actually ran, the other two are just two I like.
Eric Ellington with Catharsis performing at the Hip Hop Helps Concert, which was benefiting the Amani Children's Foundation. The foundation helps children orphaned by AIDS in Africa, and at the concert money was collected for a Jason Kendall Ray Memorial Fund. Ellington perfromed with two of his brothers; Jonathan Ellington, 17 on gutiar, and Andrew Ellington, 14 on drums. Craig Johnson, 15, is the bassist and third member of Catharsis.
